Album review: Let It Go by Eileen Carey

Country. Pop. Rock. Eileen Carey’s music blends all three styles together in a way that feels uniquely hers. I’ve just been trying to think if there’s any other artists out there like her right now and I can’t think of any. Eileen grew up in Ohio and relocated to California over 20 years ago. An independent artist, she has made quite a name for herself in California.

(Los Angeles, CA) – November 16, 2015

The MuseBox today announced that rising California country star Eileen Carey has released the music video for “Faith,”her new and already charting inspirational single that encourages women to find independence and strength in themselves. Carey’s last two music videos, “Bottle Your Crazy Up” and the feel-good summer release “Party at the Beach,” have accumulated more than 75,000 Youtube views. “Faith” jumped into the Top 20 on the NMW country radio charts, Top 10 Indie, and the NMW Adult Contemporary and Hot AC charts. “Faith” also made an appearance on Music Row’s Country Breakout chart and entered the international Wildhorse Entertainment Superstars of Country out of South Africa at #33.

Earlier this year, Carey’s “Bottle Your Crazy Up” reached #1 nationally, where it competed with major-label country performers. Carey’s three released singles are from Let It Go, her most successful album to date. Carey won The Academia Music Awards Best Country/Rock Song of the Year for “Bottle Your Crazy Up.” Akadamia.com called Carey’s composition and performance “a clever country jam with dulcet vocals and superb instrumentation, illustrating one of the most stringent performance standards we’ve encountered.”

According to Carey, “Faith” is an encouragement to women to trust in themselves, rather than in the men who are not necessarily good for them:

“I like to give people a positive outlook on life. So many people accept their fate, but I insist that there is no need to – especially if you have faith in yourself. “Faith” is a sisterly boost to every woman who’s working overtime to try to get the wrong man’s attention.”

The music video for “Faith” was filmed at Carey’s producer Travis Allen Childress’ recording studio in Montrose, California. It was directed and produced by Taner Tumkaya, the same director who worked on Carey’s “Party at the Beach” lyric video.

Carey has also started posting in her new blog, www.TheMusicMom.com. The mission of The Music Mom is consistent with Carey’s “Faith” video in that it reveals Carey’s desire to give of her experience and wisdom.

Eileen Carey Answers Digital Rodeo’s “Inquiring Minds Want To Know” Questions

One of the hardest thing for human beings to learn is how and when to let things go. So when an artist like Eileen Carey comes along with a powerful message about doing just that, it’s a welcomed sight. The award-winning California-based singer/songwriter’s fourth and latest album LET IT GO features songs which follow through on the theme on letting go of those ties that bind us to the past and perhaps no song is more evident than the title track, “Let It Go,” a thumping up-tempo country pop tune about forgetting the small things or events from our past that lead to insecurities and indecisions of life.

EILEEN CAREY/Let It Go:

When you gotta make a living, it’s a long way from being one of the Ray Charles Uh Huh girls to being the ambassador for Super Cuts, but since Carey’s act is built around been there/done that and owning it while passing on the wisdom, it’s all good is the watch word here. Her messages don’t hit you over the head, and since Charles liked country music so much, it shouldn’t be such a stretch finding the transplanted Ohioan to LA tracking her music in Nashville. All that and she still has time to cover ‘Walking on Sunshine’. A worthy successor to the divorcee pop pioneered by Dory Previn et al in the 70s, somebody has to chart the course for the rest. This certainly won’t take the guys away from March Madness but the girls have to be doing something in the meanwhile.

Movin On with Eileen Carey

clip_image003Sometimes you get to listen to music you would never have bought or listened to if not someone else had brought it to your attention. Eileen Carey’s Movin On is like that for me. The album’s genre is country/pop, which is part of the reason it is unlikely I would have ever heard of the album if my good friend Joey Alkes had not brought it to my attention.

Eileen Carey is a stranger to the European music scene. That’s a pity, since she would definitely be able to build a fanbase over here. Movin On contains honest, simple music that is easy on the ears. What’s also easy on the ears is Eileen’s voice: it goes strikingly well with the genre. Movin On is a well crafted album that I am sure will grace many music collections all over the world.

For those that don’t know her, Carey is a “Best Female Vocalist” winner at the 2007 South Bay Music Awards. Movin On has won the “Americana Album of the Year” at the 2009 Los Angeles Music Awards and also “Dance Single of the Year 2010” with “Out with the Girls”, which is the 7th song on the album.

Movin On starts off with an upbeat hit single called “That Was Her This Is Now”. If moving on is the album’s theme, this song fits it perfectly! It is one of the more upbeat songs on the album, which holds five upbeat songs and four slower songs.

Track list:

1. That Was Her This Is Now
2. What Goes Around
3. Moving On
4. Stand
5. Do I Dare
6. He’s Not Mr. Right He’s Mr. Right Now
7. Out With The Girls
8. Faith
9. Newsflash

To be perfectly honest, the album had to grow on me. On the other hand, it has: what really did it for me is listening to it with some good quality headphones and the correct equalizer settings.
The album snugly fits into the country genre with its collection of country easy-listening tunes.

I can’t wait to hear Eileen’s voice on a real pop-rock album. I wonder what her next album will bring…

My favorite songs are:

* That Was Her, This Is Now
* Stand
* Do I Dare
* Faith (great guitar solo!)
* Newsflash

Song Writers Webcast

EILEEN CAREY- Upbeat, easy on the ears, blue skies and country sunshine – that’s the sounds of Eileen Carey!! I must admit – although I’m from Texas – I somewhat tend to favor rock and pop music over country music. But I also must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed listening to several of Eileen Carey’s songs when I received them. They got my attention and kept my attention throughout each of the songs. The bright acoustics, clever lyrics and crystal clear sounds of Eileen Carey may just be the type of country music I could really become a BIG fan of. Send me more Eileen!!

Sarah Emily interviews Eileen Carey

eileencarey-1-1Submitted by tellthemadmin on Thu, 03/03/2011 – 16:41

Musician, Singer, Songwriter Eileen Carey speaks to our Sarah Emily for TellThemCountry.com

Not content with an acting role in Batman, or being one of Ray Charles’ original ‘Uh huh’ girls, Eileen Carey is now concentrating on her music career. The mix of pop, rock and country is enough to get people listening but adding the familiar themes she puts into her songs, Eileen connects with many woman her own age.

Read on to find out more about Eileen’ acting and music career, plus why she’s an expert juggler!!………………

Who were your idols when you were young? Who/What inspired you??

Whitney Houston Chrissie Hynde from The Pretenders, The Beatles. My favourite writer is Diane Warren. They inspired me on their song writing performance Vocals just love their style.

You have done acting in film and theatre. What made you chose music over these?

I have been singing all my life I just love all kinds of music. When I moved to Los Angeles CA I was studied theatre and later went on film school to become a director. While I was studying in Film school I was very lucky to get acting parts in the film /TV/Commercial Industry. However, as time

went on I just knew and felt that music is where I wanted to be. But from all of this great film and theatre training I’ve been able to put all this experience in creating my music.

 You write your own music and lyrics, where do you get your ideas? What kind of process do you use, if any, when writing?

I get my ideas from my own life experiences and watching other people and their conversations. In Los Angeles you spend a lot of time in the car driving. Believe it or not, I do a lot of writing in my car…when I have an idea I record it into the tape recorder. Then when I get home, I write it

down. From there I contact my co-writers. And then we are off to create!

Tell us a bit about your newest album. What can people expect and look forward to from this album?

Good question; however, to be honest, there’s not a great deal to discuss yet, as its still in the beginning stages.

You work alongside many charities as well as doing your music, plus being a mum, and wife…..how do you find the time for everything????

I don’t really know. I guess I’m just a good Juggler! (laughs).

And finally, what does 2011 hold for you? What are you looking forward to? What are you NOT looking forward to? Plans? Dreams? Hopes? Fears?

2011 it’s gonna be a pretty exciting year for me as I’ll be releasing a new cd. I’ll also be having a new dance single coming out in June called “Faith” for the Country dance saloon clubs & touring. My dream would be getting my music into TV/Film and Commercials.

Thank you for taking the time to interview me!
